The Alien Within: 9 – Garden & Bloat!
Summer’s Day and all is rosy in the garden…
Well, as rosy as we like it!
So this morning was really about keeping it just so and and doing usual August stuff, like dead-heading, removing old and passed its sell by date stuff to make room for more.
All quite tiring in the end, but we rounded off with a delicious lunch on the patio, admiring the butterflies, watching the bees and feeding the occasional winged friend.
Then the bloat set in…
Stomach cramps, accompanied by an unwelcome and rather uncomfortable, very bloated, tummy.
Unfortunately, one of the side effects, of the afternoon’s bloating, has been a less than discrete and uncontrollable wind instrumentation, from either end, or both at once.
The uncomfortable midriff has deleted my appetite so, for the first time, I have been unable to face our evening meal.
It is quite late now and the bloated feeling has not subsided and has been accompanied by a bit of a headache, not sometihng I am usually afflicted with. At least I am not feeling nauseous with it.
Whilst I was probably expecting some change, or other, during this transition week, I was not really expecting it to be so soon, or quite like it is. The reality is, I had no clue at all what to expect and, because the effect is different for individuals, the professionals are unwilling to provide specifics. To be honest, I never really asked them either; I did not wish to know what I may, or may not, experience and I would rather deal with such stuff as it happens than worry about what may happen.
To quote O2 – be a bit more dog! Live in the moment…
Tomorrow we pop off to the hospital, for the first of our regular bloods, to see how my platelets are doing – WTS!
Now, where’s those Senna Pods…
Next: Week 2 – Day 8
Well, your description of the, er, unfortunate side effect, did make me grin a bit, although I’m sorry you had to experience the uncomfortableness. But I suppose it would be better that nausea.
HaHa, lucky you Catkin, it is making me grimace… lol. We are working on it, for both our sakes… 🙂
Hope the bloating and discomfort have subsided a bit! Looking forward to your next post. Big hugs to you and Jill!
Aww, thank you for taking time to read & comment lovely Lisa, it means a lot to us both! Still working on the bloaty bit though… 😮
