The Alien Within: 41 – Without, Pets, Polyps & Thyroid…

The Alien Without…

No foreplay today – My PET was negative!  Therefore, I am, officially, in remission…

 
Only one way to celebrate really!

That said, the scan did show up a single polyp in my back passage!  So I feel an Endoscopy coming on…

And they want to check my thyroid, which is a simple ultra sound jobby.

But the key thing is the Alien is being trounced and, from the evidence of the PET Scan, it is quite likely I will not need Radiotherapy once the Chemotherapy is finished.

Yes, I still have to complete the full x6 cycles of Chemo to ensure the Alien stays beat!

I have to wait for the letter calling me in for the Endoscopy, which I am looking forward to less than the three weekly Chemo cycle…

More good news this morning…

 
She has arrived at Urban Truck and I am popping over tomorrow, Friday, to see it in the flesh and take some more ‘Before’ iMagery, before they rip into it and wreck it!

Today has been a good day and we are filled with hope now for an Alien free future.

When my consultant broke the good news I was, admittedly, somewhat nonchalant and told her so.  I then popped in to the Day Unit just to tell a couple of the lovely nurses there the good news.

Whilst waiting for my prescription and future appointments to be sorted, I found myself almost welling up, as I pondered how happy Jilly would be – unfortunately she could not be with me today.  Just as well as she would have only erupted into tears again, of joy this time.

So, there we are, The Alien Without…

And, yes, aside from the single glass Jilly consumed, I did polish off the entire bottle of Pol Roger!
