The Alien Within: 11 – Evacuations, Misapprehension and Tingles
Must pay more attention in class…
Chilling is good, apparently! Just as well, because today has been pretty much a Sofa Day by default. Not so much chilling though, as immobilisation..
The stomach issues have continued most of the day, although there were encouraging signs when an early evacuation happened. But it was hard work and only partially reduced the ache and bloat, we are working on it still.
During the day further effects have made themselves apparent; my hair hurts; my gums are quite sore and I have started saline mouthwash temporarily; and, perhaps weirdest of them so far, my finger tips are feeling a little odd, sort of tingly, but not tingly – a bit like I have been tapping on my keyboard all day long, non-stop (I haven’t!). These have all been mentioned to my Keyworker and I will be following them through with them tomorrow during my Day Ward visit for Bloods.
I forgot to mention, my next treatment was booked during my Monday visit, together with the required pre-treatment consultation with my Doctor. I thought nothing of it at the time…
Today, I decided to enter all my appointments into Calendar. It was then I noticed that my next Chemo treatment is scheduled to commence Monday, 17th August. For some daft reason, I thought we would be starting on the 24th! How wrong was I.
The Chemotherapy cycle is 21 days – and this starts from Day 1 of the Chemo treatment. So I do not have three weeks R&R – just a slump week (as this week) and a recovery week, before it all kicks off again.
As my Keyworker rightly suggested; at least the full schedule of Chemotherapy will be a lot shorter than I first thought… Lucky me… 🙂
NEXT: Week 2 – Day 10
Man this stuff wreaks havoc…. Sending lots of hugs your way.
