The Alien Within: 15 – Anti-Gravity & Mass Evacuation…
Sleepless in Stilton!
Not quite the same ring as the more famous fillum version, but it’s what I got here.
A virtually sleepless one last night for some reason;
I was not at all sleepy tired when I retired and, instead of waiting until I was ( I rarely do the sensible thing!) I tried to get comfortable and failed miserably. The internals were giving it large ensuring their presence was well and truly be felt. So it was all night, one of those, we all have them, interminably long and arduous nights where we know we would be better off getting up and playing on the Internet of Things, or reading, or watching TV, but we struggle on trying to get some shut eye, for no other reason than we think we need to – wrong!
So come 0530hrs, after a wander and a pee, not necessarily in that order, I retired, again and out came the iPhone. Needless to say I was not popular, not even after I made the tea for a change!
Following which, it was not too long before I started to feel the urge…
The first mass evacuation followed and proves one has to a bit patient with Movicol. It did not end there and prevented me taking the risk of leaving the house for any decent length of time today. Although, the bloat subsided a little more each time, I was beset by severe lower abdominal pain, which has lingered most of the day, even now (2030hrs!).
My ever-patient Jilly managed to escape and take in some retail therapy though, and came back with a new Garden Chair for me to chilly in…
And before you say anything, this will become Jilly’s just as soon as the Green version is back in stock! It is called an Anti-Gravity Chair and we came across it in our holiday cottage in Norfolk this year, not that we eat much of the two weeks actually in the cottage after the first weekend!
This evening, following the day’s ‘events’, I managed an almost adult sized meal for the first time in a week. Of course, not the best way to do it, but the good news is, I seem to be losing weight. Luckily, I do have plenty of spare, so it should not be a problem, short term.
Let’s hope tiredness rules tonight, I have stayed alert all day to ensure, as much as I am able, this will be the case.
Tomorrow is going to be even warmer, plenty of time for chillin’…
