The Alien Within: 19 – MK and MOTs…
Two of my not favourite things!
Milton Keynes has never been on my must visit list!
For very good reason in my book. And yet, there I was again today, following a somewhat foreshortened visit yesterday as the individual I was meeting had entered the wrong day in his diary (I did see the evidence!). Anyway, today’s visit was much longer and more than worthwhile, as we very nearly finalised the specification, very nearly.
Before that, I had dropped my truck off at the indie workshop for a service and MOT, and the added complication of having the registration plates changed. We then had to drop Jilly off at work, so that I had use of her car for the MK trip.
The truck passed the MOT with flying colours, only needing wiper blades; well, and new number plates!
Managed a brather risk walk, almost at pre-Alien pace, with Benson this evening and felt really good afterwards, even to the extent I could have gone again…
Today, in confirmation of earlier indications from last night, it has become clear that my beautiful, long, wavy, golden locks are shortly to be no more. Yes, the infamous Chemo tell tale of hair loss is upon us, although, to be fair, this one has been fully anticipated from Day 1. The side effects just keep on a-coming…
Not a very exciting day today, but then we don’t want to overdo things this early in the process do we, there is still rather a long road ahead. Tomorrow we attend the pre-treatment consultation, which should inform us of any changes to the Chemo regime. Not sure yet whether this will be with a newly shiny pate, or not.
NEXT: Week 3 – Day 18
So glad you’re feeling strong… And what’s a little hair, right?? 😀
That’s all I’ve had since as long as I can remember, it’ll grow back somehow…
“Yes, the infamous Chemo tell tale of hair loss is upon us …”
Tip from an expert in this area 🙂 You now have a larger surface area for producing Vitamin D3 ! Supposedly an important cancer fighter. And you’ll have less Seasonal Affective Disorder and be happier.
More seriously keeping fingers crossed for you and willing you on !
Thanks D – Vit D3 overdose, I like it, although I do have uber sensitive skin and prone to easy burning, ending up like a lobster with even a sniff of the great yellow ball near my noggin…
