The Alien Within: 22 – Blakeney for Brunch
A Day Trip to the Seaside…
We decided earlier in the week, if the weather was going to be reasonable, we were going to day trip it to our favourite part of the country.
With a great forecast in store for the day, we headed off, not quite as early as planned and made worse because I completely forgot to fill her up yesterday, for Blakeney in North Norfolk. So, instead of breakfast, we managed a very decent and welcome lunch at Wiveton Fruit Farm.
As we missed breakfast completely, we will call it brunch, if that’s alright with you?
After lunch, we then spent the rest of what was a beautiful day, even if the breeze was a little on the cool side, pottering around the environs of Blakeney and Cley, before heading to Holt for a little window shopping. After which it was time to head home, with Benson sleeping soundly in his safe and cosy transit box in the rear of our Landy.
It was time to walk Benson by the time we arrived back home, my evening (and only) exercise. Tonight my energy levels, even after the Blakeney trip, were as good as ever. Our walk was brisk and enjoyable, although I think we were both anticipating something to eat afterwards, as we were a little later than normal.
For the first time in over three weeks, after cooling down and changing from our sallies, I treated myself to an ice cold Grolsch. And was it ever enjoyable! So much so I may just indulge in another about the same time tomorrow evening. Chemo cycle two begins on Monday meaning, generally speaking, any alcohol is off limits.
Today was another very good day, with absolutely nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected to declare from The Alien Within…
NEXT: Week 3 – Day 21
Yay!! Glad the outing was a success!
It was indeed, a treat, thanks Lisa…
Sounds like a perfect day! Glad you treated yourself.
