The Alien Within: 25 – Themes, Janglings & Feasts…
Janglings & Feasts…
After finishing yesterday’s entry with thoughts of bobos, I barely slept at all through last night.
In fact, with all of my nerve endings jangling and having to get up to pee every five minutes, or so it seemed, I gave up at 0130hrs and came back down to the living room, TV and MBP to carry on where I left off.
During those wee small hours, aside from gazing at various screens, catching up on all sorts of stuff on the MBP and watching garbage on TV, one has to fill in time with hot drinks and nibbles. It would be rude not to! So, I polished off a couple of packets of Hula Hoops, some Cashews & Raisins and smoked pine nut mix, washed down with a hot Tchai Latte and loads of water and some more Cherry & Lemon boilies.
I finally tried bobos again some time after 0430hrs, but with little more success. Consequently, we are extremely tired today, having propped my eyelids open, with virtual matchsticks, especially as the day wore on into later on in the p.m.
Hopefully, to try and help with a better night tonight…
Night Attire…
I am not sure I have previously mentioned the enforced night attire that accompanies the Chemo pump (although pump is a bit of a misnomer!)? Clearly, having it permanently connected to my PICC for the entire week, means sleeping, and even showering, can be a bit challenging. Whilst I can and do carry it around all day in a pocket, or bum bag, these facilities are not generally available in bed or shower modes.
So, night attire for the Chemo pump consists of a length of tubigrip, cut down the middle for half its length, knotted at both ends, creating a pocket at one and sling at the other, so…
Apologies to the sensitive of visual acuity for the exposed nipplealia; the pump housing night attire is not very attractive, or even overly comfortable, but is functional and serves the purpose of keeping the pump in the vicinity of the delivery methodology, which is rather crucial. It also serves as a hanging basket for the pump whilst showering, but takes at least all day to dry out after.
Themes…
The more observant among us may have noticed a slight change to the Blog Site?
My consultant IT Engineer, aka Mr Smooth, foolishly suggested I needed an update to enable cross platform working to enhance the mobile/tablet experience. So I put him to work to find a replacement theme for my site, which he managed in no time at all.
Following which, of course, we had to customise it a little to match my exacting requirements and, putting up with my picky pita perfectionism, the Smooth one worked a miracle and delivered my perfick site solution. I absolutelylove it!
Thank you so much Matt, your exceptional talent is exceeded only by your boundless patience sir…
And now, it is almost time to retire, hopefully to achieve some bobos tonight so, once more, I bid you, dear readers, good night!
NEXT: Week 4 – Day 3
Aww shucks *blushes*. It’s the least I could do to help your incredibly brave and bold journey to kicking the Aliens arse.
Sweet dreams (hopefully!).
Love the new look of your blog! As I type this at almost 7:00 PM my time I hope that you, my friend, are fast asleep and that you will wake to read this refreshed and raring to good! Hugs to you and Jill.
Thanks so much Lisa, always great to know someone is looking at my drivellings… The new look was initiated and implemented by our very own Mr Smooth and I owe him big time for the awesome job he has done, again…
…what is this *bobos* you speak of?
Bobos is just Rog Speak (or kid’s speak really!) for sleepy time… 🙂
R… x
I figured it was something like that, but I still thought I might have to do another Google search, as I did for Flat White. LOL
Have you tried a decent FW yet Catkin?
