The Alien Within: 26 – Return of the Bloater…
Meetings and Movements…
Drove down to Hatfield for a regular monthly work meeting early this morning. Was really good to be doing normal stuff for once.
Had a reasonable relaxed drive along the A1, despite the usual snarl up leading to and around Stevenage.
Good meeting, first time for everyone to see my new hairdo and have a chance to explain first hand the sometimes debilitating effects of Chemotherapy and the ability to work and attend meetings and stuff. I then headed back home, with a short pit stop for fuel.
Other than that, today has been really uneventful, walked Benson as usual, although I can feel the slowing down effects of the cocktail. But at least we know what to expect and must just ride it out.
One of the lessons from cycle 1 was; we should deal with the potential for the bloats and constipation in advance. So the Movicol is earning its keep and, fingers crossed, seems to be controlling the movement challenges we experienced in round 1.
Tonight though, I am feeling a bit like a bloater, although I have been letting off steam, so to speak, all evening! I am hopeful this evening’s additional dose of Movicol will resolve this by morning. We shall see.
For some reason, the heeby jeebies effect, of the steroid tabs, seemed to drag on a bit longer today. I was still feeling it at tea time, although they have dissipated now, around 2130hrs, and the tiredness is kicking in.
Tomorrow, it’s off to Hoddesdon for a p.m. meeting, the journey should not experience any similar delays to this mornings trip .
