The Alien Within: 32 – Evils & Broken Arms…
Let’s hear it for spares…
I cannot recall whether it is the Tuesday, or Wednesday, which is the most evil of the two lessers. In relation to slump week that is…
However, it is good to know one of the evils we are able to control, the bowel movements, we can manage more than comfortably, with a regular dose of Movicol, yay! Now, when I say control, I simply mean rather than feeling the bloat and experiencing painful constipation. The number of movements is not a controlled factor and seems to increase as the week wears on – x4 today, so far. And when I say comfortably, well, this is just reference to the relative ease of vacating.
It seems all of my nerve endings a jangling; my legs continue to be restless legs and the finger tips have been joined by the toes with the weird, tingly numbness. Although my finger tips are, at times, almost painful as I continue to tap and write on various tech devices. Other moving parts have, throughout the day, made their presence felt in one way or another; from cramps in my lower limbs and feet to aches and pains in my leg and arm joints and chesticles.
And tired, not in a sleep deprived or exercise induced exhausted way, simply very tired with every unnecessary movement (the general moving kind!) requiring concentration and significant effort. Be mindful that I have not exerted myself in any way to achieve the tiredness. Although I do continue to walk Benson each evening and am determined to manage this, no matter what.
As I was readying myself for this afternoon’s walk, disaster…
Removing my favourite glasses, to swap tee shirts, one of the arms gave out a tell tale crack! Sure enough, it had all but sheared through near the bendy bit at the lens and would mean emergency repairs before I would be able to use them again. After that, I would have to source another donor pair, probably from Fleabay, and have the arms replaced by Boots again. Until then, I have had to resort to one of my very first pairs of varifocals in order to see without blurs.
The saving grace, I hope, will be that I should be able to start using my contact lenses once more, now my eyes have returned to normal, rather than double, vision. But Jilly will not let me use them until the main infection risk has passed, during slump week.
Tomorrow is Bloods for the second time this week…
NEXT: Week 4 – Day 10 (I am thinking this should, perhaps, better be Cycle & Days, rather than Week & Day?)
I must say I got scared when I saw the title of this post, and was relieved to find out the broken arm was of the eye glass nature….
Bodged it for now Catkin… 🙂
