The Alien Within: 36 – Rest is Best…
And Harvest Dustings…
We awoke this morning to activity in the field opposite!
The parts of a combine harvester had been deposited in the entrance to the field. Shortly they were united and ready to commence gathering in the grain. Fortunately they did not start straight off.
I say fortunately, because I had a prospective buyer for the Landy arriving in the p.m. and had one or two tidying up bits to finish, having had it valeted yesterday. The unexpected delay to the combine starting its business was appreciated and allowed me enough time to do the necessary bits.
However, this did not prevent my freshly cleaned truck from being covered in harvest dust!
Jill also made me promise not to step out while the harvest dust was about. She was rightly concerned that my heightened sensitivity to infection, especially of the fungal type, may be adversely affected by the harmful stuff inevitably floating around in the dust from the harvesting.
They are still out there even now, finishing off their days work! Although if they had started earlier, they may well have finished a while ago.
Other than that excitement, I have been under house arrest, forced incarceration, lock down…
For the first time since the treatment started, I was unable to take my evening walk with Benson! The harvest dust put paid to that and was a risk Jill was not prepared to allow me to take.
To be perfectly honest, I am not sure I could have taken him out anyway. I am not sure whether it is the new drugs I have been taking, or the Neutropenia, or both, but Most of the day I have had zero energy and felt, well, sort of weird.
The kind of weird that it is hard to pin down or describe, which frustrates Jill no end when she asks what it is I am experiencing.
All I can say is, it is beyond tiredness, or even exhaustion, my tank is empty…
My daughter says rest is best and Jill suggests I should get more rest! I have done virtually nothing all day, how could I possibly get even more rest?
Or, perhaps it is all just normal for this stage in the treatment…
Let’s see what tomorrow has in store!
